The world has entered the 21st century (space age)
The foundry industry is still the tap root of every country’s industrial economy.
Some where in the production of almost everything we use or see daily, advanatages is taken of the FOUNDER’s skill.
All engineering begins with the melting of metal – whether iy is to make a part for a machine or themachine itself.
Machines are used in the production of 99% of the things with which we live and work. Without machines we would still be living in mud huts, and without castings – the products of the FOUNDRY – we would have no machines. A casting is the shortest distance betweenraw materials and finished products, It represents the fusion of scientific certainty with the skills of the TRAINED CRAFTSMEN.
James Watt used castings in his steam engines 200 years ago, Robert Stephenson built them into the first locomotive. All are dependent on tools and components which use castings. The FOUNDRY industry offers the opportunity to exploita variety of skills and talents.
There is scope for the man who has a mechanical bent, who is interested in the properties of metals, who finds pleasure in creating someting from a drawing, who has a flair for dealing with people or the knack of administration – above all, for theman or woman who takes pride in the perfection of the finished product.
WHATEVER YOUR INTEREST – FINE CRAFTSMANSHIP OR MECHANICAL PROCESSES. DRAFTMANSHIP OR DESIGN, CHEMISTRY OR METALLURGY – THERE IS A SPECIAL PLACE AND A PROMISING CAREER FOR YOU IN THE FOUNDRY IND
